After having left the northeast, sadly, for good…I have returned home. After half a decade abroad, away and elsewhere I have returned to sweet, humble, hip Richmond, Virginia. But what do I come back to? A different town. No smoking in doors? Ok perhaps that’s what hit me the hardest. Nothing goes better with a cocktail than a death stick in your other hand.

While looking for a old friends and revisiting old hangouts it took sometime to recalibrate so I did so with a google search…And we found RVA Blogs. A strong recommendation for local bloggers. Feels like a family =) As of now 360+ blogs and growing, and look! There lies Heavytext between Heaven on Hanover and hello houndstooth.

I love science because it never fails to surprise me. The kooks in their labs are always coming up with something or another that’s not a flying car or teleportation device, but that is still quite impressive. So here’s one i have a hard time believing in. There is now an iphone app that helps you lose weight through subliminal messaging. (red rum) I’m giving out a challenge to Lazy Diet users throughout the interwebs..If you’ve tried this give us a shout out or a comment at Heavytext and tell us of your experience, because the claims are kind of outrageous on the face of it all…

Now to get the obvious out of the way. I understand that my todos aren’t structured in perfect GTD format. Actually, most of the time they’re pretty close. But here’s the problem, currently in ye old Syracuse we are experiencing an awful mid-winter shit storm. I’m allowed to be messy. =)

In fear of drifting this blog towards a Cage-centric commentary, this will be my last Nicholas Cage post. We all ought to have goals, and I realize, that as a man, many of mine are quite silly. I keep on 43 Things a list of HAVE TO DO’s, not before I die or turn thirty, but simply imperatives. The list shrinks and grows depending on how festive I feel. Past years have looked kind of like this…

How long after someone has passed is it appropriate to unfriend them, or is it ever acceptable?

A few years ago a dear friend of mine passed, due to perhaps some bad choices and a pre-existing medical condition, but nonetheless a good man. Like many men, twenty plus with too much spirit and perhaps time, he died at the end of a bottle. One of my dearest friends and an excellent person by any standard, he’s left an odd legacy behind.
