Asus 1005HA Hackintosh Help! Need a Tutorial!

February 1st, 2010 View Comments

Untitled.jpeg

I purchased an Asus EEE 1005HA awhile back and felt inclined to try to install OSX, leopard or snow leopard it doesn’t matter.

It has been a exhausting trying to get this damn thing to run the new OS. Most tutorials out there seem to skip alot of steps for the novice. Below are the best, or at least appear to be the most thorough, I have been able to find. They haven’t worked for me. It never boots!?!

Are there tutorials I can kind of port over for the 1005HA? Like the 1000HE and how if you don’t mind me asking?

Repost due to Error: Cables are Cheaper on Ebay! Stop Buying from Retailers!

hdmi cable, great deals on Electronics, Computers Networking on eBay!.jpg

Cables are probably the most ridiculous expense for modern home entertainment. I recently purchased a fabulous 40′ screen, my first HD experience, and so as to pwn n00bs in full HD I sought an HDMI Cable. And of course I went straight to the XBOX section of Best Buy to find that the Microsoft Brand costs $50. And to you BestBuy I say FUCK THAT! Even the local Gamestop wants to rape you for 20 bucks for a used.

Songbird: An Apology….Thanks for the Mac Extensions and more

An open apology goes to the Songbird Community for looking out for me. You haven’t wronged me. I was foolish to toss aside such a project that so early in its development actually carries a lot of the needs that say…Itunes would do for software user.

Apple Keyboard Media Key Support – I may have just lost this extension in the shuffle. The Apple Keyboard Media Key Support Extension seamlessly takes advantage of the Mac keyboard that was a major barrier for me.

Update: How I would steal music…

New found gimmick! Rather than actively scour the net for Mp3 blogs, Netnewswire, our favorite free RSS reader, gives you a way of passively downloading tracks from sites you’d likely check anyway.

Through prefs you can have Netnewsire check for posts and download all Mp3s available in your favorite blogs. Granted, those that host tracks through You Send It or ZShare can’t really be worked around, but only in due time I would suppose.

How-to:
Prefs->Downloading->Enclosures->Check Automatically Download ‘Audio Enclosures’ and ‘Other Enclosures’

If you’re into a lot of Indie pop and dance remixes…here’s an import file for my favorite mp3 blogs.

How I would steal music…not like I ever have

I have always felt that we all have our own super powers. Your buddy Ray Ray can get any girl at the bar, Julie always gets out of speeding tickets and then there’s that guy that always gets the best parking spot. I can find anything on the internet. Believe it!

(Waves his hand in the air)

In all my humility, I thought I’d spill the beans and give away some ideas for finding those hard to locate tracks and with the most efficiency. If you’ve got some tricks up your sleeves please throw them this way. A couple of these techniques go through or around P2P networks, and you may need a guide or intro first.

Where Am I?
