I find that ’stream of consciousness’ really helps in terms of conveying how we truly feel about the things that are on our mind…and scene.

“Ear Muffs”

I fucking hate Typepad. For a paid service they should give me so much more. The real problem behind all this is that I’ve spent too much time that I don’t have trying to fix things on my own to no avail. This weeks problems with the Typepad:

1. No contact info for actually talking to a CSR! So I have to hope that my messages to the void will get answered and responded to promptly. Turns out to be a turn around of 6-12 hours. If I pay you $100 a year you WILL answer my phone calls.

2. No Exportation Support for leaving to another service. Correct me if I’m wrong, but despite whether or not you want to keep your customers you should provide an export tool that will allow you to EASILY archive and backup your work to ANY major service. Typepad don’ work wit nuttin’!

3. No FTP access?!?. See #4. Plus what they call ‘FTP’ is sluggish and frustrating for anyone with some experience.

4. Paid services should be better than free! But Typepad’s services are substantially limited to Wordpress and other blogging software! Why is that? NO IDEA!!! I can either do my own laundry with my own time and a fist full of quarters, or I can pay by the pound at the laundromat and have them fold and press my clothes. It’s that extra bit that lacks from Typepad. Not worth the money.

Ultimately the goal of this post was to ask for help from the world as how to import Typepad posts into Wordpress without all the problems.

The major problem that results is that you’re permalinks don’t follow. This means that although on the main page of your new Wordpress blog your old posts will show themselves, if you wanted to click on their headers and read them in single post mode they will go to an Error screen.

Other than re-entering all the old posts one at a time, I’m not sure how the best way to handle this is. For clarity, the reason why this is frustrating for me is tha tI have about 3000 posts to copy/paste then…. =/

Is there a plugin? Anything?

Le Sigh

P.S. No Comments from Typepad fans…We only have love for Haters here.
